Rebuilding Exchange
Since 2009, Chicago’s Rebuilding Exchange has been a model for sustainable reuse. Taking and diverting materials from landfills, Rebuilding Exchange has made available over $2 million worth of quality, reusable materials to the public.
You too can become involved and learn how to make small furniture out of reclaimed materials. Offering a wide range of classes, Rebuilding Exchange offers a one-session class called the Make it Take it series. Students can choose from: a rustic mirror, wood bench, end table, or coat rack to build. After creating your piece take it home and show it off. Register for classes HERE, classes start mid-November.
Be sure to visit their website to find out about their beautiful new space located at 1740 W. Webster Ave., job training, workshops, inspired projects, opportunities to donate or volunteer, and much more.
