Seeing Chicago: From Past to Present

In honor of Chicago turning 177 yesterday I wanted to create a post that offers you some of Chicago’s most beautiful and historic buidings and monuments to visit. What buildings and monuments do you think should make the list?

Support the Opening of Forbidden Root
On Thursday, January 23rd, Forbidden Root will host a meeting to discuss plans to open its brewery headquarters in the former Hub Theater location at 1746 West Chicago Avenue. Inspired by early American brewing techniques, Forbidden Root is a brewing company that makes botanical beer from all-natural herbs, roots, and spices. Randy Mosher, Robert Finkel, and BJ Pichman are the masterminds behind Forbidden Root. Challenging traditional beer-making methods that typically use large amounts of barley and hops, Forbidden Root sought out to experiment with smells and tastes searching for unique roots, herbs, and spices. Operations manager and brewer BJ Pichman explains the method: “Once we find an interesting flavor profile we then begin to think about how to incorporate the traditional beer ingredients to finish the story. We are truly trying to create an experience for the consumer - One that takes them on a journey to a time and place”.
If opened, Forbidden Root would be the first botanic brewery in the country. Attend the meeting to learn more about this amazing prospect.
